    with Dan Smeby


    Mothlight is pleased to welcome Toronto-based filmmaker, Dan Smeby, as our 3rd filmmaker-in-residence. Come out to see what he's been working on! As usual, we will screen Dan's work with other contemporary filmmakers.

    Dan Smeby received his BFA from Concordia University, while founding Ctrllab: Montreal Art House A.I.R Program. His first film, Lever Lencre, is premiering later this year at the 10th Annual Caribbean Tales Film Festival. Dan curates (FJ ie: FilmJockies) original Super 8mm & 16mm footage for live performances with musicians and DJ’s at events in Canada and the USA. Smeby is a celluloid based filmmaker, dancing between the borders of fact and fiction. He aligns the tangibility of film with ideas of home, occupying himself resolving truths and insights of hope through a tango of time.
